• Introduction to Scientific, Information and Multidimensional Visualization – Course overview
• Parallel Coordinates in the Plane – Dualities, Transformations, Visual and Automatic Data Mining (Live Exploration of real multivariate datasets: Financial, Telemetry, Neural Pulses)
• Lines in N-space – Representations of Lines – Distance & Proximity Properties – Application : Collision Avoidance Algorithms for Air Traffic Control with live demos.
• Coplanarity – Representations of Planes, Flats & Hyperplanes – Recursive Mapping, dualities and demos – “Near Coplanarity” – a central problem in many applications: (Commodity Market, Buy-Sell indicators and a remarkable profit-risk relation)
• Curves – including theory of Envelopes
• Visualizing Proximities (Topologies) – Lines, Planes and Hyperplanes. Demos and applications to Geometric Modeling (with Tolerances), Statistics, Approximations.
• Hypersurfaces in N-space – Representation by (N−1) planar regions. Classes of surfaces: Developable, Ruled, Algebraic, Convex, some Non-Convex and Non-orientable. Detecting their properties visually from their representation patterns. Interior Point Algorithms, more on Data Mining, Decision Support & Process Control, (Trade-Off Analysis, Sensitivities and Interrelations, Impact of Constraints, Optimization), Automatic Rule Finder (Classifier for Data Mining), Research Topics.
• Newest topics – To See C2 – visualizing complex valued functions – Visualizing Large Networks – their topological and other properties – Separating points clusters into coplanar sub-clusters.
