L'attività di ricerca di Sara Migliorini riguarda i seguenti argomenti:

  • geo-processing: integrazione, gestione e analisi di informazione spazio-spaziale;
  • process-aware information systems: sistemi informativi guidati dalla specifica di modelli di processo; 
  • spatio-temporal reasoning: derivazione di nuova conoscenza spazio-temporale a partire da informazioni memorizzate in una base di dati;
  • big data systems and analytics: studio e sviluppo di sistemi ed algoritmi per l'analisi di grandi quantità di dati;
  • blockchain tecnology: problemi relativi all'emergente tecnologia blockchain con particolare riferimento alla sua applicazione per lo sviluppo di nuovi ed innovativi sistemi informativi. problems related to the emerging blockchain technology and its application to the development of the next generation of information systems.

Conceptual modeling of spatial databases This research topic regards the study of new approaches for the conceptual modeling of geographical databases, with particular emphasis on the spatial integrity constraints specification. In cooperation with Politecnico di Milano and with CISIS (Centro Interregionale per i Sistemi Informatici, geografici e Statistici) a new conceptual data model has been defined and used as Italian standard for the conceptual schema of the National Core database.
