Do you ever need to multiply matrices, calculate a complicated integral, plot functions, calculate the chromatic number of a graph or solve an optimization problem? Do you know how to find the first ten-digit prime number in the digits of π? Can you assign digits to the letters to make the equation AREA = PI * R * R true? Are you familiar with Python? Learn these and more in an introductory course to the SageMath mathematical software.
The course is taught by Prof. Péter Burcsi of the Eötvös Loránd University Budapest. The timetable, up to now,  is:

Jan 22, 2.30 pm - 4.30 pm, lab alfa
Jan 23, 4.30 pm - 6.30 pm, lab delta
Jan 24, 1.30 pm - 3.30 pm, lab delta
Jan 25, 11.30 am - 1.30 pm, lab alfa

The course is open to doctoral students, bachelor students (triennale) and masters students (magistrale) in informatics, bioinformatics, or mathematics, as well as postdocs and faculty. Those interested in participating are requested to send an email to Laura Marcazzan (laura.marcazzan@univr.it) specifying their name, course of studies, and year (where applicable).
For masters students in mathematics, it can be considered propedeutic, although not mandatory, to Scientific Computing, held in the second semester by Prof. Marco Caliari.
