Abstract: Given two rings, which are not isomorphic, one would like to compare their representation theories and to transfer information from one to the other. Derived module categories provide a fairly general and useful framework for doing so as well as for discovering surprising connections.
In this lecture series I will try to provide an elementary and non-technical introduction to derived module categories, illustrating some of the key points by detailed examples.
The lectures take place in Ca' Vignal 2, Aula M
