I will talk about a work in collaboration with L. Damascelli.
We consider positive solutions of the equation -Delta_p (u) = f (u) in possibly unbounded domains in R^2 including the case of the half space. We prove monotonicity and symmetry properties of the solutions, assuming that the nonlinearity f is positive. As a consequence we get some Liouville type theorems.
