The European Environment Agency (EEA) certifies road transport as responsible for 70% of greenhouse gas emissions, contributing to more than 25% of total CO2 emissions worldwide. The reports of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) indicate the reduction of such emissions as an unavoidable element to curb the increase in Earth's average temperature.
The Field Workforce Management (FWM) software platforms used in the production sector are lacking in optimizing the
movement of goods and people, resulting in the overproduction of pollutants.

In this context, the Green Inspired Revolution for Optimal-Workforce Management [GIRO-WM] aims at developing innovative Artificial Intelligence solutions based on solid foundations of stochastic analysis, optimized pro-planning of work team activities in heterogeneous operational environments, e.g. technical assistance, waste collection, etc., to optimize the movement of polluting vehicles, thus significantly reducing their environmental impact.
