Curriculum

Gino Mariotto si occupa di:

  • caratterizzazione di sistemi compositi, amorfi e vetrosi con tecniche di spettroscopia vibrazionale
  • applicazioni della spettroscopia micro-Raman a sistemi micro- e nano-strutturati
  • proprietà strutturali e dinamiche di semiconduttori a bassa dimensionalità (1D e 2D)
  • dinamica vibrazionale di composti cristallini (isolanti e semiconduttori) mediante l’uso di tecniche di spettroscopia Raman in polarizzazione
  • diffusione della luce nella regione dei THz da modi acustici di nano-particelle segregate in matrici dielettriche trasparenti
  • effetti del confinamento fononico in sistemi nano-strutturati

Le sue pubblicazioni si collocano prevalentemente su riviste internazionali delle aree della fisica sperimentale della materia condensata, della fisica-chimica dello stato solido e della spettroscopia vibrazionale.

Micro- and nano-scale materials Micro-Raman spectroscopy provides a unique tool to study the vibrational properties of micro- and nano-scaled materials. The so-obtained vibrational spectra allow to identify the composition of the material and convey information on both atomic dynamics and structural arrangement.
