“Essilor Luxottica | SMARVY - Full AI solution for aesthetic quality control”, the challenge for students will take place on Tuesday the 23^rd of January at 10:30, Aula C - Cà Vignal 1.

Essilor Luxottica outlines the AI project named SMARVY, aimed at developing an automatic quality inspection system for eyeglass frames. The system seeks to replicate the sensitive quality assessment done by skilled operators, who currently face constraints in identifying defects. SMARVY combines advanced robotic hardware to handle and photograph frames with customized AI algorithms designed to detect imperfections in real-time.

The presentation, scheduled for Tuesday 23 January at 10.30 am in Room C of Cà Viglal 1 will cover an introduction to Essilor Luxottica and the BPI Team, followed by details on SMARVY, the hardware and software components. The system's strengths and limitations will be discussed, with a plan to test SMARVY in a real-world scenario to strengthen its capabilities, and a challenge for the students. The winners of the challenge will join us and will be part of our BPI team for a full day in Agordo.
