Course "Computational Analysis of Genome-Scale Sequences" (open to all masters students)

This is to inform students that my course "Computational Analysis of Genome-Scale Sequences" will start on Monday 11 October (aula T.06, CV3, and in streaming). 

The course treats algorithms and data structures for large textual data (webpages, genomic databases, electronic books, musical data, ...) and is within the program of Medical Bioinformatics, but is open also to students of all computer-science-based Master programs. I have uploaded an introductory video on the moodle to give you an idea what to expect. 

We will have Prof. Simon Puglisi (University of Helsinki) give some lectures within the course in the first week of November. Prof. Puglisi is an expert on data structures on textual data and compression.
