Today's companies are looking to incorporate the new manufacturing technologies characteristic of Industry 4.0. The aim is to improve working conditions, increase productivity and the production quality of plants.
Three macro-sectors of Industry 4.0 development have been identified:
• Data acquisition
• Formalization of processes
• Data analysis
The project aims to define the activities needed for the industrialization 4.0 process in terms of the data acquisition part. A general base line will be identified, which will then be adapted case by case according to the level of industrialization reached by the company.
The project focuses on the extensive use of the OPC-UA protocol that separates both conceptually and functionally the data acquisition, storage and analysis phases.
The project is divided into two phases:
• Knowledge acquisition;
• Industrial case study analysis.
