This talk introduces the natural language question answering system Loganswer (www.loganswer.de). There will be an emphasis on the embedding of an automated deduction system based on 1st order logic and its cooperation with machine learning parts of the system. We will discuss problems which stem from the huge amount of data necessary to query Wikipedia and we will discuss applications of Loganswer in the context of question answering forums.
