In the project the research activity of the unit of the University of Verona will be focused on the following two points:
1. METADATA: the definition of models for the representation and languages for the manipulation of metadata in multiresolution and multilayer geographical databases, with particular attention to the management of the access to heterogeneous geographical databases via Web.
2. TEMPORAL DIMENSIONS AND GEOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION ON THE WEB: we will study and define suitable semistructured data models and related query languages dealing explicitly with the temporal dimension of data. A specific focus will be on temporal issues for geographical databases.
