Analysis, construction and implementation of splitting methods for the solution of time dependent (partial) differential equations and their application to various problems in science and engineering.
Moreover, there will be a laboratory part, delivered by Marco Caliari, in which some classical linear and non-linear PDEs will be solved with the help of splitting numerical schemes implemented in MATLAB or any other scientific language.
