Proteomics can be seen as the study of the entire protein complement expressed by a genome. Due to its highly dynamic nature, analysing the proteome is a rather challenging and informative task in many biological investigations. This talk will focus on the usage of Mass Spectrometry and related bioinformatics tools to carry out proteome studies. Particularly, the two crucial aspects of identifying the protein content of a sample and subsequently quantifying it will be discussed together with some bioinformatics software available for the purpose.
