The activities carried out during this project are part of a coordinated effort to support the development of a new energy value chain based on widespread solar electricity generation in the built environment. The focus of the first 5 WPs of the project is centered on the development and characterization of materials whose fundamental properties can determine some specific functions of integrated photovoltaic cells and modules: transparency (WP1), flexible integration into architectural components (WP2), color and aesthetics (WP3), high efficiency (WP4), intelligent energy management (WP5). WP6 is designed to be a strategic synthesis activity, where dissemination is set to highlight the synergies between the different activities according to the long-term objectives of the BIPV sector. The goal of this project is to serve as a springboard for the creation of a long-term national strategic partnership of the national photovoltaic research and development community.
