Learning outcomes

The course aims at improving the knowledge of the student about the human computer interaction, by providing examples of non-ordinary human-computer frameworks. Each discussed framework will be considered under a theoretical and practical point of view, i.e., in terms of efforts given to the interaction mechanism and in terms of how to build it.

Face-based (collaborative) interaction
-Face detection
-Face recognition
-Facial expression analysis - affective computing

Gesture-based (collaborative) interaction
-Hand gesture recognition
-Gesture recognition
-Activity recognition

Body-based (non-collaborative) interaction
-Motion detection
-Human activity analysis - social network

Assessment methods and criteria

The exam consists in the development of a project on a single topic faced during the classes, and implemented with MATLAB
