Learning outcomes

Visual perception, such as perception in other sensory modalities, is only partially determined by external stimulus properties, as it is mainly due to the observer's experience. Perception Psychology refers to the ensamble of cognitive computations that, once applied to the signals coming from the external world, give rise to perceptual experience.
The aim of this course is that of providing a wide and complete view of the physiological and cognitive phenomena underlying perceptual experience. A multidisciplinary approach will be favored, and the traditional aspects of Perception Psychology will be integrated with the corresponding phenomena studied in the field of Cognitive Neuroscience.
