Elements of Galois theory, with applications to algebraic equations. Complements of group theory.

Syllabus

Normal and separable extensions. Fundamental theorem of Galois theory.
Solvable and nilpotent groups.
Solvability of equations by radicals.
The general n-th degree equation and the symmetric polynomials.
