Starting date
We will analyse the numerical approximation of solutions to Partial Differential Equations through the first terms of their expansions in series of polynomials or, more generally, of special functions.
Those methods have been greatly developed in the last 30 years, thanks to french and italian collaborations, e.g. in the works of C. Canuto, A. Quarteroni, Y. Maday, Ch. Bernardi.
During the course there will be several practical computer lab sessions.
