Description

The thesis or stage proposal concerns the development of multi-functional organic-inorganic hybrid nanostructured systems for diagnostics or theranostics in Biotechnology or Nanomedicine. Inorganic based nanoparticles encapsulated in suitable biocompatible envioronments, as micelles, will be considered. Luminescence or MRI activity, or others functionalities activated by external stimuli (as electromagnetic radiation) will be involved in the functional nanocomposites. The encapsulated nanostructures will be also functionalized with binders or organic compounds to confer drug delivery or different therapeutic actions (as photodynamic and photothermal therapy). Functionalization with organic molecules for targeting in biological systems will be considered.
