The research program is framed in the context of the development and extension of the use of OPC-UA technologies in the wider field of computer engineering applied to Industry 4.0.

The research program is divided into three phases:

1. DEVELOPMENT of innovative solutions based on the OPC-UA protocol: the main objective of this part of the project is the creation of a testing environment for the OPC-UA Pubsub technology

2. TRAINING for an advanced use of these solutions: in this phase of the project a methodology will be presented for the definition of complex decision rules, based on machine learning techniques, which can be implemented both on edge and cloud environments .

3. PROMOTION of these and other technologies: the third phase of the project is aimed at promoting the company within the Department through multiple activities, including the installation of Uniqo software at the new ICE laboratory, use of the ICE laboratory by of ASEM spa customers , promotion of the company Asem s.p.a. at the companies of the industrial advisory board, didactic activities with students and undergraduates.
