The goal of the course is to provide the know-how about malware analysis and design. Malware analysis is the art of dissecting malware to understand how it works, how to identify it, and how to defeat or eliminate it. Malware design is programming in such a way malware analysis becomes hard. In the course the students will practice with virus, worm and bot. Hands-on will provide the necessary experience in order to understand and analyse computer attacks based on malware code.
Introduction. Foundation. Taxonomy. Memory resident virus. Worm. Stoned e Boot malware. Anti Virus and Anti-Anti Virus. Stealthiness & Polymorphism. Forensics.
The students will be asked to produce home-works during the course, and the reverse engineering of a malware.
