The course presents some bioinspired models of computation (DAN and Membrane computing), by developing the aapect of interaction between these models and the computational analysis of biological systems.
Reviews of computations, grammars, languages, automata. Bioinspired computations. Types and fundamental paradigms. DNA structure and transcription/translation computations. DNA notations and operations. DNA test tube operations. Adleman-Lipton model and SAT problem. Algorithmic analysis of DNA protocols. PCR. XPCR. membrane and membrane computations. MP systems. Models of biological dynamics. Problems of computational synthetic biology.
