Principal Ideal Domains. Unique Factorization Domains. Euclidean Rings.
The ring of polynomials.


Module: Modulo 2

Fields. Algebraic extensions. The splitting field of a polynomial.
Normal extensions. Separable extensions.
Galois theory and applications.

Assessment methods and criteria

Module: Modulo 1

There is one exam concerning the first and second part of the course. It consists of a written test and an oral examination. For the ammission to the oral examination it is required to pass the written test.
