Business process reengineering in health care system and eHealth

In recent years, with the sharp increase in health care spending, we are witnessing a radical change in the management of the organizational structures of hospitals and in general of all the organizational structures (GPs, districts, etc.) present in the national and regional health system. In addition to the efficiency of the system through the re-engineering of internal processes and PDTAs (Diagnostic Therapeutic Assistance Paths) and the consequent introduction of new ICT tools (Information Communication Technology), which have, or are, modified activities, procedures, techniques, and even processes. Through an interdisciplinary study, the aim of the research group is to analyze and evaluate the impacts that new technologies have on organizational structures and patients. Moreover, through the re-engineering of the processes with the BPMN language, we intend to analyze and improve the impact of the PDTAs on the regional health structures and on the organizational actors involved.
