The project aims to prepare a production processo of SnS thin film solar cells through the innovative ion jet deposition technique developed by Noivion Srl. The tin sulfide is an excellent candidate for the mass production of solar cells as it is composed of abundant and not toxic elements. On the contrary materials currently used for the mass production of thin film solar panels (mainly CdTe and CIGS) suffer from limitations related to scarcity issues and/or toxicity of some elements that compose them thus representing a constraint to the spread on a large scale of the cheapest thin film technology.
